What is the Pupil Premium?

The Pupil Premium is an allocation of additional funding provided to schools in England to support and promote the education of specific groups of children who are vulnerable to possible underachievement. These include pupils who are entitled to Free School Meals, those looked after by the Local Authority or adopted from Local Authority care and children of armed service personnel. The intended effect of this funding is to accelerate progress and raise attainment. 

Who is eligible?

  • Children who are eligible for free school meals or who have been eligible at some point during the previous 6 years
  • Children who are looked after by the Local Authority or adopted from Local Authority case
  • Children of armed service personnel

If you think your child may be eligible for Pupil Premium funding, please contact the school office in the first instance and they will advise you on how to register.
