Catch-up Premium: COVID-19

In June 2020, the government announced the availability of funding to support children and young people to catch up on missed learning caused by coronavirus (COVID-19). The allocation of funding to schools is calculated on a per-pupil basis.

Schools are expected to use this funding for specific activities which will help pupils catch up on missed learning with a particular focus on disadvantaged and vulnerable pupils who have been most affected.

Fern Hill's allocation and how we are using the funding

COVID-19 Catch-up Premium - £51,000 based on pupil numbers
Additional staff led Maths and English tuition (small group intervention)
Tuition through the National Tutoring Programme (group numbers based on pupil need)
Nessy reading and spelling software for targeted online learning
